CHMS Best of the Nest – Mrs. Angie Dimitriou

As you may recall, our amazing PTO sponsors our staff appreciation award, the “Best of the Nest” with a premium parking spot for the winner!

Staff members nominate each other based on:
Who has inspired you?
Who is making you a better staff member?
Who is making your day more enjoyable?
Who is doing great things for kids?
Who is consistently in your corner?
Who is implementing innovative strategies in the building?
This award continues to demonstrate the inspiring, kind, and giving staff we have here at CHMS. The incredible words that are written toward each other in response to the thoughtful actions taken are inspirational.

This month, Mrs. Angie Dimitriou (CHMS Resource Teacher) was our lucky winner! A few comments shared about her were:

  • Angie is a very dedicated teacher!
  • She wants to see the best from her students and make sure that they are learning to the fullest extent possible.
  • Angie goes above and beyond to show that she cares for her students - she works hard, and she always tries to be positive.
  • It's a pleasure working with Angie!

Congratulations again to Mrs. Dimitriou and all of our nominated staff members!

Community Speaker Series Presentation by Jeff Selingo: Who Gets Into College and Why - 4/24 @ 7pm

Who Gets In and Why: A Year Inside College Admissions

Wednesday, April 24, 2024
7:00pm - 8:30pm
In Person at the Hinsdale Central Auditorium
Register: http://weblink.donorperfect.com/CSSSelingo

It’s the question on the minds of teenagers and their parents everywhere: how do colleges select their freshman class? For an entire admissions cycle, Selingo was embedded in three admissions offices and followed a group of high-school seniors through the process as well as players behind the scenes, including the marketers, the financial aid consultants, and the rankers.

Selingo dispels the entrenched notions of how to compete and win at the admissions game, reveals why families have much to gain by broadening their notion of what qualifies as a “good” college, and explains how the Covid-19 pandemic will impact admissions in the long run.
