Dear parents/guardians of students attending the DC trip,
As a quick first note – please read carefully and save this email because it has many helpful links to help your child prepare for the DC trip.
The bus lists were posted at school this Wednesday for our Washington, DC Trip. Our DC trip is May 4-7, 2022. Linked below are the itineraries, which include flight and hotel information, for all six of our buses. Check with your 8th grader to find out which bus they are on.
On April 27th and May 3rd, students will meet with their bus chaperones to review important information for the trip such as scheduled activities, packing, and behavior expectations
Students will bring their luggage to school on the morning of May 4th–it will be tagged and stored here at school for them during the school day (note: be sure to double check their bags to ensure they have all their needed items and no prohibited items)
Bus transportation to and from the airport will be provided on both May 4th & 7th
Students will leave directly from school on May 4th near the end of the school day to go to the airport
Students will receive money to purchase their dinner at the airport on May 4th
Student IDs/passports are not required for the students to travel
NationsClassroom sent an email on Wednesday, 4/20 that discussed vaccination status and testing requirements for travel to DC. This message is different from what we currently understand based on CDC, TSA, and relevant airport and airline guidance. At this time, students will NOT be expected to produce negative test results or a vaccine card at the airports. Students MUST bring masks. Masks may be required in certain locations and are optional in others. We will continue to update students and families about mask requirements as COVID guidelines are constantly dynamic.
Looking forward to a fantastic trip!
