Fundraising
Why We Fundraise
We fundraise to improve the day-to-day experience of our students. We do this in both big ways and small including: purchasing new furniture for the MRC, installing permanent locker shelves, providing stand up desks, 3D printers, and much more. In addition to these large strategically planned items, the PTO provides an annual stipend to every teacher in the building. This stipend can be used at the teacher’s discretion to purchase supplies for their classroom that are not covered by District 181 funds. Finally, our PTO offers financial support to extra curricular clubs, activities, and athletics. For example we help to subsidize the transportation to/from the school’s volunteer opportunities at the Ronald McDonald House and we provide funds to cover the cost of the school musical. We are always looking for new ways to help support the school and enhance the lives of the students. We truly appreciate your donations. Any questions, please contact president@chmspto.org.
How We Raise Funds
Pizza Wars
Every spring our CHMS families get together for a night of pizza tasting. 8-10 area pizza vendors donate their best pizzas. Each guest tries each vendors’ pizza then votes for their favorite. There is also the Eagle Jam talent event that CHMS students participate in. All proceeds benefit the PTO
Spirit Lunch
The PTO brings in a special hot lunch several times a year as a special treat for students. Orders are placed ahead of time and parent volunteers pass out the items to students during their lunch period.
Buy-a-Brick
Pave the way to the future by purchasing a 4” x 8” red brick engraved with your child’s name or family name and placed in the CHMS entrance. Purchasing a brick is a great way to leave a lasting legacy at CHMS for your child!
Book Fairs
We have 2 book fairs every year to support our MRC (Multi Purpose Center). Book fair proceeds go directly to the library to purchase new books.
Other Programs
Angel Fund Donations
Our PTO’s Angel Fund helps CHMS students in financial need to afford to participate in school-related activities. We need your help to assist families that would not be able to otherwise afford to purchase school supplies, send their kids on field trips, the 8th Grade Washington D.C. trip, or other school opportunities.
