Thank You D181 Board Members

On School Board Members Day, Friday, November 15, we celebrate the dedication and hard work of our elected D181 Board of Education members. This day is an opportunity to recognize their commitment and thank them for their unwavering advocacy in pursuit of quality education for all our students. Let’s show our appreciation for their outstanding service to our community!

District 181 Prioritizes Student and Staff Safety

District 181 is committed to creating a safe and welcoming learning environment for all. To achieve this goal, we have implemented a comprehensive safety plan that includes:

  • Enhanced security: Upgrades to facilities, including state-of-the-art security measures, reinforced doors, and clear room numbering.
  • Increased surveillance: Installation of security cameras throughout the district to monitor activity and deter potential threats.
  • Comprehensive training: Regular training sessions for staff on safety protocols, emergency response procedures, and threat assessment.
  • Emergency preparedness: Piloting the CrisisGo system and implementing the Safety Officer program to improve our ability to respond to crises effectively.

These initiatives demonstrate our unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of our students and staff. We believe that a secure learning environment is essential for academic success and personal growth.

Questions can be directed to the building principals. If further assistance is needed, parents can contact the Director of Communications - Jeffrey Alstadt.

The Community House is proud to continue the Fortnightly tradition for 8th Grade Students at CHMS and HMS. Eighth grade families should keep an eye out for invitations to come in the mail after Thanksgiving, and registration will take place online beginning Saturday, December 21st at 9am.

The Friday classes will be offered in hourly sessions, and spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis:

  • 5:00pm - 6:00pm
