You will also be able to visit the forms section to register for the PTO, purchase spirit lunch, request a PTO check reimbursement or buy a family brick to place in our school entryway.

πŸ“š Author Visit: Erin Soderberg Downing – Book Orders Due Sept. 5

Author Erin Soderberg Downing is coming to Hinsdale Middle School on Monday, September 8!

πŸ“– Ms. Downing is the author of several amazing titles, including, Just Keep Walking and Controlled Burn. Hear her talk about her books, including her brand-new release, What Happened Then!
✍️ This is a fantastic opportunity for students in grades 3-8 to meet a celebrated author and get their books signed. 
πŸ•“ The event will take place in the Hinsdale Middle School Cafeteria, starting with a presentation at 4:00 p.m., followed by a book signing.

Welcome Back – School Starts August 19!

Back-to-School Day was a big success! We hope your student enjoyed walking through their schedule, finding their locker, and getting excited for the year ahead. A huge thank-you to all of our volunteers, especially our BTSD PTO members, and a special shout-out to our amazing CHMS faculty and staff for working behind the scenes to make our middle schoolers feel prepared and at home!

 

We can’t wait to welcome all students back on Tuesday, August 19! Doors open at 8:15am, and classes begin at 8:25am. Wishing everyone a wonderful first day!

CHMS Back To School Day is Tuesday, August 12th!

Walk your schedule, drop off school supplies in advance, collect science goggles and PE clothing and meet up with fellow classmates! Grade level timing is suggested, but students are welcome to come throughout the morning:

✏️ Sixth Grade: 8:30 am - 9:30 am
✏️ Seventh Grade: 9:30 am - 10:30 am
✏️ Eighth Grade: 10:30 am - 11:30 am

🍦Don’t forget to bring $$ for the ice cream truck!

πŸ“š Battle of the Books – Info Meeting

Calling all those interested in Battle of the Books! 

The Informational Meeting is on Tuesday 9/30 at 8:00 or 3:20 in the MRC for 10 minutes! 

No commitment is required. Learn about how the competition operates, find teammates or sign up with your team, and get the book list so you can START READING! 

Regular competition meetings will begin in January 2026. All grade levels can participate. Teams can range from 2-6 members.
